Next to the zoo is Waterworld, a leisure complex with gym, fitness studios, swimming pool and a fun pool with a 60 metre flume. Newquay comes alive with light and laughter on summer nights. There are bars and clubs galore, catering for all budgets and musical tastes. New Year is legendary, a three-day fancy dress party which sees people from all over the country dancing in the streets.

For a more peaceful experience, just a short bus-ride from Newquay is Trerice, a secluded Elizabethan manor house built by the Arundell family in 1572. Dairyland, also just outside of Newquay, is open rain or shine; children can pet the animals and watch the realities of a working farm. Close by is the beautiful village of St Newlyn East where the Lappa Valley Steam Railway begins its mile-long journey to the East Wheal Rose park and you can enjoy more train rides, boating, crazy golf, a maze, children's play area and woodland walks.
